believes in jesus christ
The Upper Room Ministries / The Upper Room Church is a friendly, Spirit-filled independent church that is warm and welcoming. The church is a genuine praying, worshipping Church that believes that everything is possible with God.
The Ministry began in Guildford, Surrey, the UK in 2000 where a small house group expanded and recognized that by joining together as a body of Christian believers, we can become more effective in worshipping and praising the Lord (John 4: 23-24). Today, the Ministry has churches in Zambia, Malawi, and South Africa where Pastors and congregants commune together in prayer and song in their localities.
The Church serves to be witnesses of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed to the people of our church and the communities in which we live to carry out the great commission as set out in Matthew 28: 19-20. We aim to look beyond our immediate environs and to offer help and support to others less fortunate - this is in keeping with Christ’s Gospel values.

We, The Upper Room Ministries (which is the Name of a Christian Association, hereinafter referred to as “The Church”) with the main object to propagating the Word Of God, The Great Commission In compliance with the Biblical Mandatory injunction to go into the World To Preach and Make Disciples of all Nations for the Lord Jesus Christ; Convinced that such disciples must be properly tutored and brought up in the Word of God; Recognizing that a Constitution to regulate the operations of the Church is not only a legal requirement for the registration of the Church but also, one of the many ways to build a stable Church structure and we do hereby enact this Constitution for the purpose of our work.

The Upper Room Ministries believes that the Bible is the Word of God.
We believe in the Triune Godhead – God the Father, His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that there is only one God in three Persons – with each Person of the Trinity being co-equal. We believe in the personality and the deity of the Holy Spirit whose dynamic powers transformed and empowered the early Christians and whose gifts are readily available to all believers today.
We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God – that it was given to us by the inspiration of God through the Holy Spirit for doctrine, reproof, and correction – so that we may all be made complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work for the glory of God Himself.
We believe that God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, came to our earth in the flesh, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered and died on the cross for the remission of our sins, and was buried. We believe that on the third day, He rose again from the dead and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty from whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe that no one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ. We recognize that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life that leads to eternal life and salvation with God the Father. We believe that Jesus Christ is the sole mediator between God and man.
We believe that the grace of eternal Salvation can only be received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a special experience following salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times.
We believe the initial physical evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is Speaking in Tongues as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout the book of Acts and the Epistles.
We believe Sanctification Initially occurs at salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as a believer continually draws closer to God and becomes more Christ-like.
